Fall After School Program Registration 
Opens Sunday September 22nd!

PLEASE READ: IMPORTANT REGISTRATION INFORMATION

  • Registration ENDS for all classes on Friday, October 11th at midnight.  If the session is full, please sign up on the wait list.
  • Classes are offered after school - pickup will be at the front of the school. 
  • Parents MUST provide transportation.
  • All classes run for 4 weeks. 
  • Classes must be half full by the end of registration to offer the class.
  • Scholarships are available to sponsor students who may not be financially able to participate in these programs. Please contact Dr. Swoger before September 22nd.
  • PLEASE NOTE: Instructors have the right to expel any student from a program due to behavioral misconduct. No refund will be given. 
  • Please note that a mandatory LumaPay convenience fee is required for each transaction.  This fee is in addition to the ASP class fee(s).

AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAM COURSE DESCRIPTIONS

*Please read each description carefully as classes vary in dates and length of time.

 


Warm Weather Art Club 

WHAT:  Students will explore art that can be created outdoors (weather permitting.) Paint pouring, spray painting, and creating art with nature will keep students wanting to make more outdoors.  A small materials fee will be collected.

WHEN:  Tuesdays

TIME:  3:00-4:00 pm

AGES:  Middle school students

LOCATION: Marshall Middle School (art room 114)

INSTRUCTOR: Mrs. Sell, MMS Art Teacher

CLASS SIZE: 20 students

Crafting for a Cause  

WHAT: If you like to create crafts and be creative while also giving back to your school, local community, and global causes, please join us for this club! You will learn how to make different  crafts that will be given to organizations in need. Additional donation costs may apply.

WHEN: Tuesday

DATES:  October 1, 8, 15, 22

TIME:  3:00-4:00 pm

AGES:  Grades 6-8

LOCATION: Marshall Middle School (Art Room 115)

INSTRUCTOR: Mrs. Rubenstein, MMS Art Teacher

Culture Club 

WHAT: Have you ever wondered what it would be like to travel around the world?  If yes, then culture club is the club for you!  Students will explore various cultures through readings, pictures, videos, artifacts, food, language, guest speakers and more!  

WHEN: Wednesdays

DATES:  October 2, 9, 16, 23

TIME: 3:00-4:00

AGES: Grades 6-8

LOCATION: Room 133D

INSTRUCTOR: Allison Baran

CLASS SIZE: 20 students

 Wildlife Identification 

WHAT:  Students will tour the Marshall Campus and learn to identify various wildflowers, trees, and animals on the campus.  We will tour grassy areas, wooded areas, and pond areas.  Students will learn to use dichotomous keys, field guides, and the iNaturalist Seek app to identify species.  Students will create a digital scrapbook to catalog their findings.  School-issued iPads should be brought daily.

 Baking Club 

WHAT: If you like to bake (and eat) yummy things, then this is the club for you.  Each week we will bake a new type of dessert.  I will pick week one but the following weeks will be decided by student interest!

AGES: Grades 6-8

LOCATION: Room 128- FCS Kitchen

Down on the Farm  

WHAT: Did you know that our school is built on land once home to Shenot’s farm?  Did you know that there are still functioning farms in our area?  We will learn from each of our area farming families about what each season brings, including fun hands-on activities.  If you love growing plants, animals, baking, etc., this just might be the course for you.  A small materials fee may be collected.

TIME: 3:00-4:15

AGES: Grades 6-8

LOCATION: Room 228 unless otherwise directed

INSTRUCTOR: Mrs. Castner and representatives from each of our local farms
