What does the MMS PTSO do?

The PTSO is a newly formed 501(c)(3) organization comprised of MMS parents and staff. It was developed with the goal of connecting parents and providing them with opportunities to better support and serve our students and staff.

In its first year, the PTSO accomplished great things, including raising the funds and providing MMS T-shirts to all students and staff for an all-school commemorative 30th anniversary photo.

To help celebrate MMS's 30th Anniversary, the PTSO also worked along side staff to decorate for and support an end-of-year school wide LipDub video in which all students participated:  LipDub Video

During its first year, the PTSO ran a Spirit Wear Shop and formed a Staff Appreciation Committee to celebrate our fabulous staff. We provided volunteers, and helped promote and support various staff and student run events, activities, and programs, including:

  • Thanksgiving Food Drive;
  • Picture Day;
  • 6th, 7th & 8th Grade Socials;
  • Tiger Shop;
  • Make-A-Wish Club;
  • Black History Month Photo Scavenger Hunt;
  • 7th Grade Charity Dodge Ball Tournament
  • 8th Grade "Math Means Business" Sweatshirt Sale
  • Last Day of School Activities

As the PTSO enters its second year, our goal is to continue to grow and develop our programs and support of our students, including implementing After School Programs and a PBIS Committee.  We encourage all families to join us in this worthwhile endeavor!
