MMS PTSO Executive Board

 

We are thrilled to announce the newly formed the Marshall Middle School Parent Teacher Student Organization (MMS PTSO).  Our goal is to work with the teachers and student council to provide opportunities and to better support and serve our students.

 

The Executive Board consists of 5 members who oversee and help facilitate and execute the goals of the PTSO.  If you are interested in becoming a board member or have any questions, please email marshallmiddle.ptso@gmail.com

 

President: Runs the MMS PTSO meetings, helps to coordinate the goals and direction of the MMS PTSO, and is directly involved with the MMS administration. 

 

Vice President: Coordinates and assists the committees, helps procure volunteers and assists the President as needed. 

 

Secretary: Creates and sends out communication, marketing or notifications  and takes minutes and notes required at MMS PTSO meetings and executive board discussions. 

 

Treasurer: Responsible for creating and balancing operating budget, tracking financial transactions and expenditures, writing checks, providing financial statements/actuals at PTSO meetings. 

 

Technology: Maintains and update the mmsptso.membershiptoolkit.com website, and creates volunteer sign-ups and sales forms through Membership Toolkit (MTK) as needed. 

 

This is a great way to get involved and the workload and duties can be tailored to your availability. All are welcome and encouraged to get involved! 

  

Roles and Duties according to the ByLaws: 

  1. The President shall preside at all meetings of the organization and of the PTSO Board; shall perform such other duties as may be prescribed in these By-Laws or assigned by the organization or by the PTSO Board; and shall coordinate the work of the officers and the committees in order that the objectives may be promoted. 
  2. The Vice President shall act as an aide to the President and shall perform the duties of the President in the absence or inability of that officer to serve.  The Vice President shall act as a volunteer coordinator to arrange for assistance at school functions.  The Vice President shall oversee all committee chairpersons. 
  3. The Secretary shall record the minutes of all meetings of the organization; shall perform such other duties as may be delegated; will take roll-call votes when deemed necessary.  The Secretary is responsible for all communications from the PTSO membership and board, The Secretary is responsible for the weekly update to the organization. The Secretary shall develop an agenda for all general membership PTSO meetings. 
  4. The Treasurer shall receive all monies of the organization; shall keep an accurate record of receipts and expenditures; and shall pay out funds in accordance with the approved budget as authorized by the PTSO Board.  The Treasurer shall present a financial statement at every meeting of the Executive Committee and at PTSO Board meetings when requested and shall make a full report at the annual meeting.  The Treasurer’s accounts shall be examined annually by an independent auditor.
  5. The Technology officer shall be responsible for the changes, updates, and maintenance of the MMS PTSO website at mmsptso.membershiptoolkit.com. The technology officer shall create and oversee a committee consisting of at least one (1) person to ensure the continuity of MMS PTSO online presence.
